A Day for Daddy - Father's Day 2013

Taking time on Father's Day weekend for a special day with just the four of us was something I thought would be a treat. So Saturday we took daddy to the Herb Box but not before opening some presents.

I was so thrilled when Ryan said that this was one of the BEST Father's Day celebrations for him in huge part to the photo book and frames I made for him...errr I mean the kids made for him. I created a "Life Captured in Cell Phone Pics" Shutterfly Book for him. It was fun to showcase all our everyday pictures that live on my Instagram. Here was a sweet moment where Ryan and Reegan {who is present obsessed right now...doesn't matter if it actually for her or not! LOL!}

Always with the late night projects...here are the frames in the making.

I found these awesome printables and fell in love! Ryan was really touched by the sweet message paired with the amazing studio pictures of the kids.

The total package also included some BBQ swag and The Civil Wars CD...I only took a picture of the good stuff though.

I opted to get a card from The Paper Source this year...this one just really spoke to me for Ryan. He's all this and so much more to our little family.

So after the gift giving we headed out to Scottsdale for some grubage...Ryan of course guessed where we were headed within minutes of leaving the house. SHEESH!...can't sneak one past this guy.

Some photos to remember the day.

I mean if you're not dying over Reegan being lady like and Fletcher's chubby thighs then I don't know what to say about that. Haha! Here are some more of Reegan taking a moment to pray and us just being us. Side note: Reegan is already so much like Ryan...always trying to get a laugh. During prayer she says Thank you God for the stinky food, yucky drinks...etc. She is like Thing 1 doing the opposites game is something she finds highly humorous. We are gonna have to work on that but we always take time to let her pray her way...whatever she says I'm glad she is thinking of God and ends with an Amen!

We are big on kisses around the house and the way she says it is über sweet too...think of the youngest sister on Dispicable Me {YES it's random but incase you wondered.}

We love to share these times out with the kids whether being sweet or sassy as seen here.

And Fletcher too...

His thing which he did that day was to say Hiiiiiii or Byyyyyyye while giving big waves to anyone within shouting distance. He was entertaining staff and guests and family as always. Hehe!

After breakfast we decided to pop over the The Quarter in Scottsdale where we ended up making our way to the splash pad. We of course didn't plan on this but weren't about to let that stop our fun. Kids went into the water in their clothes...that's right we are "THOSE" parents....and darn proud of it. LOL! And with a dry set of extra clothes in the diaper bag it's no harm to foul to let them just be kids and have fun.

After that it was home for a nap and then on to celebrate Griffin turning 2! On Father's Day we spend time with family and had brunch with Grandma Janet and dinner with the Taylor Crew. At the end of the day I snapped a few pics of my favorite people together. I would say it was a pretty successful celebration of the most important men in our lives. Truely blessed.

Hoped your daddy's day was as memorable as ours.

{A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words}

Jess requested a studio shoot of the kids and I requested a playdate afterward. She makes one spectacular swimming set up. Imagine kiddie pool meets slide plus water table...my kids couldn't have been happier! And momma knew they had so much fun with Amelia because they passed out for nearly three hours after we got home. A sign of a successful playdate if you ask me! Well in true fashion Jess got me the photos in no time flat. Funny to think that they went from little formal kid looks in a tulle "Binky Fairy" dress as Reegan described it and JCrew headband and collared shirt with tie and drivers cap to swimsuits.

She has such a talent in capturing my kids personalities in a single snap of the lens. As always feeling blessed to have such a talented friend. Thanks a million times over!

You will probably see these images included in Ryan's Father's Day swag. Shhhhhh!

{Fletch's One Year - Oldtown Scottsdale Photo Sesh}

Bet you never thought you'd see these photos huh?! Thanks to MULTIPLE face injuries Fletch had to have photo appointments bumped until we had a scab & bruise free face to photo.

Sidenote it is wayyyyyy difficult to get a one year old BOY to stay in one spot verses a 2 year old diva doll AKA there are a few more pictures of Reegan here than Fletch but no worries people, more pictures are coming and you WILL NOT be disappointed...pinky promise. Also anytime we asked Reegan to hold Fletcher's hand or hug him to help hold him in place he immediatley got annoyed. LOL! So that was fun too. But the amazing amazing amazing and talented Jessica of Flecky Fotography was still able to get some excellent photos of these wild ones.

I'm thrilled because once I get the prints from this session I get to finish off my family pictures wall at home....gee that only took like 5 years. Ugh! Hope you enjoy the sneaky peaky.

{Scarlett's First Birthday}

Here is one of many photos to come. Heather did such a great job on selecting the Austin's Childrens Museum for the party. Such a cool place...I was wishing we had more time to spend there.

Thank goodness for an awesome daddy...the hubz spent most of the time chasing the kids around while Heather and I set everything up for the special day. We ate some amazing food from Jalopy...it was all so good. Then there was a Name that Art Piece/Artist for the adults...of course the artists girlfriend wins the Starbucks giftcard...lucky Caren!!!! Then we did cake and presents. It was a whirlwind of a day but we all had a blast and I can't wait to celebrate my happy little niece again next year. It's funny because I kept forgetting that it was my birthday too...now I know how Ryan feels sharing Reegan's bday with her. But really I think it's pretty darn cool! Enjoy the sweet pic of my two fav girls!

{Scarlett's Turning ONE}

And I couldn't be more excited! SO SO SO looking forward to seeing my little lovely nieceypoo very soon! I designed a little fancy schmancy invite for her. You can purchase these fab frames too here.I will likely have to design my own version when I have more time to design...I probably was like getting this to Heather and had to just turn it around FAST! :/

But I'm seriously mega pumped to A. See doll face B. Celebrate my 30th with my bestie/sister/twin C. Check out the Austin Children's Museum. Stay tuned for the favors, decor for this museum / art birthday party! I have a feeling I might take a picture or two. ;)

{Fletcher Walks}

Fletcher's first steps caught by daddy and Grandma Janet on January 4, 2013 at 10 months old and three weeks. Not gonna lie momma was a little bummed to have missed this milestone while at work but I've watch countless steps since then. :) Sorry for the poor quality video.

See Reegan's first steps here. They were literally only days apart when they started to walk! AMAZING! How easy it is to forget... we definitely thought Reegan was walking a LONG TIME before Fletch! Thank goodness for this blog to help keep track of life's important moments!

video

Also interesting is that mommy was there for Reegan's first steps and daddy was the one that missed out while daddy caught Fletcher's moment. Funny stuff. ;)

{Bye Bye Binky! Binky Bye Bye!}

Well it happened! FINALLY AFTER MONTHS OF PREP the Binky Fairy {thanks for the suggestion Rachel} came and took Reegan's binky away into the clouds. We talked about this then talked more and talked even more...she knew all about the Binky Fairy and what was going down for quite some time. Tonight we picked balloons, she hand picked a baby doll she wanted to take home. We let her pick one balloon to keep {incase she might get upset about them going into the clouds}. Then collected all the binks in the house tied some to a balloon bundle, went to the tot lot and she let them go into the clouds. She opened her baby doll and we played in the park for a while. Then dinner and bath and watched Elmo's Bye Bye Binky song. Bed time took a little longer because she didn't have the binky to soothe her to sleep. Instead as I rocked her to sleep we talked about other big girl things she does..."tying" her shoes, putting her own clothes on, going potty in the toilet, starting school after she turns three...all while she cuddled Siri {the name of all her baby dolls}. Momma had extra patience with her tonight as she chatted and sung Bye Bye Binky because after all it was a huge milestone for my big girl an ex binky lover!!! No crying and she fell asleep in good time. Overall a great step in the right direction.

Do you have a lil one that needs to get rid of a bink? How did you do it?
