{What's Going On With Reegan This Week...4!!!}

At week 36 weeks your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.

At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

{Belly Photo Shoot with Flecky Fotography}

Such a joy to work with Jessica Flecky on July 11th for our belly photo session. I couldn't be happier with the results. You can see some of our favorite pictures below that were taken in a pecan orchard in Chandler, AZ.

Don't be fooled by how happy and glowing we was July in Arizona...we were sweaty and showing off for the camera. LOL!

All my friend said I looked like Bella in Twilight although I'm pretty sure her pregnancy didn't go as smooth as mine has. #twinerd

Was literally getting bitten by ants here. Oh the fun memories.

Showed off a little belly.

Big Chucks and little pink chunks. We love our converse shoes..especially Since my maiden name is Taylor & her middle name is Taylor...we are down with Chuck Taylor!

You can see more of Jessica work at her Facebook page!

What did you do for your belly session?

{What's Going On With Reegan This Week...5!!!}

By pregnancy week 35, your baby is still working diligently on gaining more fat to keep her safe and warm in the first weeks after delivery. Your baby's suckle reflexes should be well developed now. If born prematurely at pregnancy week 35, most babies will still be able to breastfeed with little trouble.

{What's Going On With Reegan This Week...6!}

At 34 weeks your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

{"a" is for AZ Baby Shower }

Arizona baby shower was last Saturday, July 10th and what a PERFECT shower it was! I had an AMAZING time with so many of my friends and family.

Although it was one of the hottest, muggiest days this summer we still had a blast.

The ladies brought their "A Game" and we received 950 diapers to add to our stock pile from Ryan's Man Shower. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful ladies in not only our lives but in Reegan's too. One thing is for sure she will be one stylish baby - we got tons of fabulous outfits and she even has a True Religion outfit! Which isn't fair because I don't even have a pair of those jeans yet! LOL!

The bright colors and details really set this baby shower apart. Little butterflies everywhere with a fun alphabet theme that was really unique.

A very special thank you for everyone that attended that day and ESPECIALLY to Melinda Hinkson for having the event at her house and Heather Taylor and Kristi Welker for being hostesses with the mostesses. Haha! More pics coming soon so be sure to check back!

{Readying Reegan's Room - Shelf CHECK!}

Yet another great job by Daddy-to-Be! I love this Ikea shelf that we selected to display some custom artwork for Reegan's room. The items on it currently are just a place holders until the set of three canvases arrive. Can't wait for everyone to see the work by Jordan Nicohols! :)

{What's Going On With Reegan This Week...7!!!}

Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

{Cast Your Vote}

Looking for some input on which pouf you think will be best for Reegan's Nursery. I want something soft that I can kick my feet up on and will be child safe. The white cube pouf is actually water resistant but I like the more whimsical look of the gray one. Let me know your thoughts! :D

{Nursery Chair Project}

I was desperately seeking a comfy, cute chair for the nursery {that was not a small fortune} as I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time in it with Reegan. I love the website Project Nursery and found my inspiration for Reegan's room. The yellow chair on the top right was exactly what I was looking for! Upon reading about the this room I found out that the chair was only $9 from The Salvation Army. So that very night I went to a second hand store in Happy Valley and found just what I was looking for at the price of $20 {bottom left - swivel and rocking armchair}! Luckily I have an awesome family member, my mom's cousin Ernie, that is upholstering the chair for me and I found the perfect fabric color that matched the fabrics {see bottom right - the fabric matches Reegan's lamp shade} that I have already selected for Reegan's room. We selected a nice durable fabric {actually meant for outdoor furniture} that may be able to handle the wear and tear that is Reegan! ;) Stay tuned for a look at the final product!
