{Bookworm Party VIII - The Big Shabang}

Alright people here is the big reveal for our bookworm shabang! Lots of love went into all the party details. From a massive paper pom wall bookworm to quotes like "There is more treasure in books than all the pirate loot on Treasure Island" gracing our walls. With a serious love for books I had SO MUCH fun with this party.

For the table center pieces I simply bundled some of Reegan's vintage books that are my favs. Of course this Momma Bear had to represent with the Berenstain Bears.

Since we have a nonexistent micro side patio and put all the kid's toys away to open up some space there was little for the mini guests to do. EEK! Solution? Kraft paper table tops. They were a HUGE MESS HIT as you can see. Did you detail oriented people catch the peanuts on the table?!

Those peanuts came from our Egg Head favors that were plastic eggs from Easter in an egg carton filled with brain food that included peanuts, popcorn, dried fruit, nilla wafers, fruit snacks and pretzels rather than candy.

TIP: Basically if you're going to do this make sure the favors are out of the kids reach. As you can see little worms were all over those snacks before the meal was served and I'll give you one guess at who was the number one offender...my Reegan. I guess it was her party after all. LOL!

Even though I skipped on the candy for the kids. We did have plenty of sweets. Dirt {chocolate pudding + oreos crumbles + gummi worms} cups and an amazing bookworm cake & smash cake {created by the talented Aunt Kristi} were fun additions to the party in the form of delicious treats.

I decorated our picture shelf with clearanced wooden painted letters from Michael's. I loved BRIGHT color pop this added. I totally scored because all the letters to spell "BOOKWORMS" were in store except the "R" but thinking on my toes I remembered I had purchased the needed letter and it was living in Reegan's room so it worked out perfectly. The Welcome Bookworms sign was a combo of chalk and wooden letters which was a great visual welcome to the party.

Oh this worm girl. She was not an easy project. I worked angrily diligently on her to create a paper pom wall worm I imagined in my head.

She also made an appearance on the party invitations that I designed below.

SIDE NOTE: After the party the paper poms were donated to a local church for an event that was being held to reveal the renovations done for their teen ministry. Consider donating party decor + goods after your event rather than wastefully throwing them in the garbage...you'll save someone work and your creation will live on!

As I mentioned Ms. Worm was on the invitation...here is what guests received. Invitees commented "This isn't an invitation it's a package!" Each mini guest got an extra small composition book labeled "Property of: Their Name" on the back. And we had a ball hand delivering most of the packages to friends and family.

I absolutely love how my DIY pieces for this party turned out. See the how to on this vintage book shelf here! Mini guests were welcomed to select a book from the shelf and take it home in their personalized book bags. :)

So there is what our celebration for Reegan was all about. Oh what's that you say?! Wanna see the birthday girl! BOOM! There you go!

Reegan is nerded out in H&M kids sunglass...another element added to the party favors... with lens popped out of course and Harajukiu Mini headband and romper.

I just melt for this girl's expressions! She has a wonderful demeanor...and how stinkin' cute are Reegan + Grandma Betty?!... uber sweetness!

Awesome! Thank you for stopping by and for sharing. There really are not very many bookworm party examples out there. I have a whole folder on my Pinterest too.
