Over the holiday I made arrangements for the Stevens family to have photos taken together with one of my fav photographers Stacey with Dream Photography Studio. I was able to work with Stacey and help revamp her blog assisting her with some tips and pointing her in the right direction as well as some mechanical updates for her. Let me tell you that she is a major joy to work with both on the blog and as a photog.
These photos were taken in my grandmother's backyard which has so so so many memories for Heather and I...a very special location and I just loved how Stacey made those familiar orange trees as the background.
Are you loving Scarlett's many faces?! I'm actually melting over her tongue out picture. sighs. I miss her lots!
So as I mentioned I gifted my sister and her family some pictures of the family unit together as they didn't have any to date. We also were able to sneak some in of most of our Taylor family (extended) as well as one of the five generations that us twins are included in.
Stacey was able to wrangle in not only a bunch of us but also caught most of the kids smiling except of course the Mr. Fletch Butt AKA Mr. He's A Hard Nut To Crack. He looks pretty grumpy or maybe he is trying to be "classic" and not smile like they did in the olden days. Haha!
In addition to these very casual pictures we had taken I want to share some of Stacey's other amazing work! Be sure to consider her for your future needs!
These are only a few samples of her work but I had to snag them because I'm LOVING the bowties and nerd glasses. Did I mention that Mr. Fletch has a Casanova 1st birthday party coming up VERY SOON?! Look for your invite in the mail. Well those bow ties and glasses were making me have heart eyes since they will be part of the theme for his first birthday party. What do you think of Stacey's work?!
I mean how amazing are these images?! I need to get a smart car for Fletch man to roll up in for his partay! Haha!
REALLY?! As a continuation of this post....we find out today that Reegan now has strep throat. I get it...we have kids. We can expect to be sick here and there...but this must be a joke?! Strep for three of us and pnuemonia for the fourth. Winter you are not my friend. That is all.
So Valentine's Day is almost here and I'm beyond excited because that means my baby is turning one! Did you know Fletch was born 16 minutes after V-Day?! Anyway I wanted to design some cute cards for the kids to hand out this year. I was thinking modern kids that had their own styles and are super polite!...AKA a dream child. LOL! This is what I came up with. You can download a printable at anightowlblog.com, message me for the printable or buy the full set for $5 in my Etsy shop! What do you think of these guys?! And which is your fav? Mine is the girl with two buns...how dang cute is she?! Reegan's fav was dude in the sunglasses...she was stalker obsessed with him. Haha! Enjoy!
Last weekend, January 20th we had a dedication ceremony for Fletcher and the day was perfection. A beautiful day with just us + his local grandparents + great grandmother + one of his fav aunts...there are others though. ;) Well of course I felt pretty guilty about not doing an invite to his like I did Reegan's dedication. And we had to reschedule a time or two due to weather or health. But what is meant to be will be and although it was just a handful of us it couldn't have been more perfect. Oh there were ups (Fletcher's outfit) and downs (MEGA MELT DOWN in Sunday school before the ceremony). But the show must go on... We enjoyed some lovely words from our neighborhood pastor. He told us of stories...one that was dear to my heart. About Hannah and how she prayed for a son and once she was blessed + her prayers were answered she turned around and gave her son right back to the Lord. Sunday I did the same and dedicated Fletcher to be raised in a Lord loving home....such a responsibility and commitment that means so much to me. The ceremony was followed by our family verbally commuting to hold us liable for the commitments Ryan and I made. Followed by a prayer for our family. Next we enjoyed the grill at CCV and God beautiful green earth....my fav was watching my little chubby man walking around Frankenstein style in the grass...I hope I'll never for that sight. Like I said it was perfect!
Annnnd I'm back...cue Fletcher starts screaming from upstairs.... Run upstairs, pick him up, locate binkie, pop it in mouth, begin rocking him on the Monte glider.... Annnnd I'm back! LOL! So so so many things to write about.....don't know where to start so I'll just start about happenings as of late and then Quentin Tarantino it on ya and jump all around. Haha! So we have been sick...like CRAZY ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! kind of sick. I was looking at my Insta account and about 3 weeks ago the kids had bad coughs requiring this mother bird to do an 11pm Walgreens run for nebulizer attachments...imagine my joy when I was able to purchase exactly what I needed Fast forward 2 weeks and all is well!!! We had a baby dedication service for Fletcher...then BOOM!!! Ryan and I are diagnosed with strep throat. We actually shared an appointment to our PC because we knew we were on the same sinking ship. Eek! She said verbatim that Ryan had the strongest positive for strep that she had ever seen. Z pack check! Homemade chicken noodle soup...recipe on the blog...NOT!!! Hehe! Green drinks (spinach nasty concoction)...recipe on the blog....OK I'm not funny. But it is kinda...if I have to see one more recipe or DIY or free printable or how to make a sock bun or cute outfit I might flip. Don't have time wish I did yadda yadda yadda. Phewph! OK derailed momentarily. Anyways once healthy we had a pretty serious scare because we learned that Fletcher had pneumonia in both lungs. And for those that know about his rough start into this world would know the level of alarm that this put me into. It was a definite struggle (mad at myself that there was even a struggle) to give it all to God and know that things would be OK. Because as some of you know He will only give you what you can bare. So even though we were dealing with 104.5 temps, throw ups, meds and more last weekend we survived. I survived. I've decided, once again, to get back with it. You might not get fancy, pretty little posts. You'll prob just get the real, raw me with iPhone pics because that's all I have time for these days. But you'll get what is left have baths, dinners, story time, cuddles, playtime, etc. etc. which isn't much but hey it's something. ;)
So WOW! An EXTENDED vacay from the blog. Well I guess I would say that even though I thought I was getting things together after being laid off in October I think I didn't realize at that time that really life as I knew it was just changed for good. I got kicked off my really easy ride of life. Now I'm dusting off and hitting the saddle again. Life has been going on I just haven't been blogging about it. But guess what the itch is back/I'm back in the saddle. SOOOO if you need me to take off email notifications or want to unsubscribe now is a good time. I have A LOT of blogs coming your way so speak now or forever hold your peace because it's supposed to be two FREEZING weeks in Phoenix and I fully intend to catch up with some friends (Vanessa are you out there?!), eat some chili and blog blog blog!
So blessed. My high school sweetheart turned out to be the man of my dreams and we have built a wonderful life together. Our children, Reegan, Fletcher, and Hudson are the light of our lives. Marketing is my job. Design is my passion. Hope you enjoy my writings which are all about the most important things to me + my family.
